ATSDR (Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry)

The Arkansas Department of Health (ADH) conducts activities through a cooperative agreement with the Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry (ATSDR), the lead federal public health agency responsible for determining human health effects associated with toxic exposures, preventing continued exposures, and mitigating associated human health risks at hazardous waste sites.

If you are concerned about potential toxic exposure in Arkansas, you may contact us for expert guidance. We provide information and review data for human health risks. However, we do not conduct sampling, test for chemicals, or perform remediation.

We also provide support for child care facilities that want to assess their property for toxic chemicals. Click here for more information.
